Community: Have you met Kerry?

Community Spotlight: Meet Kerry Cline and Shiloh

We just wrapped up our kid’s art showcase (thanks for all your hard work, Sophie!), and I thought it would be a good time to talk about another artist we know, Kerry Cline. Kerry and Shiloh have been visiting us since we were in the old shop. We’ve talked at length about her dogs, her travels, and her art. You might have even noticed some of her work if you've ever wandered through our shop and admired the beautiful dog-themed cards on the front counter.

Kerry has been a beloved member of the Warkworth community for over fifty years, living here on and off (she used to split time in Alaska). We were really chuffed when she started introducing us to her friends here in town. It really meant a lot to us, and we’re always grateful for the support this community has given us. Kerry has always been one of our most prolific supporters.

You might have seen some of Kerry's masterpieces around town. Her newest works are currently hanging at the Omaha Beach Cafe & Eatery, giving that already beautiful café another dose of seaside charm. They’re not the only ones; keep your eyes peeled as you may see some of her art adorning the walls of a healthy pet food shop near you.

If you would like to see how the sausage is made, so to speak, you could also visit her studio out in Snell’s Beach. A word of warning: you had better stay mobile. If you linger too long, Kerry might slap some paint on you! Most of the time, she sticks to traditional canvas, delicate silk, or even chicken eggs, but she’s always looking to branch out. You’ve been warned!

Kerry's connection to the community goes beyond her art. She is a passionate advocate for local causes and seems to know everyone. In a world that can sometimes feel disconnected, it feels good to know that we have people like Kerry in our community. Her art brings us together, reminding us of the beauty and joy that animals bring into our lives. We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of our Tuck In family and can't wait to see what she creates next.

So, next time you're in our shop, take a moment to appreciate some of her work and If you see her and Shiloh around town, be sure to say hello – they are always happy to make new friends! Thank you all for checking out our little corner of New Zealand, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
